Ever find yourself driving down the highway when a song comes on that throws you back to another time in your life?
Last Thursday I was thrown back to high school and cruising town on Friday night after the football game. A friend of mine had 'borrowed' all of her older brother's 8-tracks of .38 special and would play them in some converter thing that plugged into the cassette player in her car. There was definitely singing along.
My apologies if there's anything offensive in that video. 'Live at Sturgis' is certainly a daunting description...but it's playing while I type so I'm not actually seeing it.

I love that song, and that band =).
It's not uncommon to watch a current movie, with songs from the 70's and 80's in them (remade or original versions of the songs) and be thrown back to a specific moment in time.
When I hear "Hold On Loosely", it makes me think of some teen spring break movie that had that song in it. When I watch "Sky High" with Andrew, when I hear the remake of "I'll Stop the World and Melt with You", it makes me think of the movie "ValleyGirl" with Nicolas Cage -- that song played during a key scene of that movie. It's funny how many songs of my younger days are tied into memories of movies!
I just accidentally deleted a bunch of email addys. Would you email me at my gmail addy so I can re-add you. Please and thank you!
I LOVE that song too! I had a student of mine come in a few years ago and she had heard it in a current movie. She loved it too and had to go out and buy the album! And this was in like 2005! You gotta love the 80's!
