Upside-Down On Our Temperature

Yesterday we had a Memorial Day so humid that the only way to dry off after a shower was to stand in front of a fan...and then when I moved away from the fan, I needed to dry off again.

And so, I switched on the old cool air conditioner.

This morning it was sunny and humid again, causing E1 to beg for a shower after a mere 20 minutes mowing the lawn. I made her take the kids to the playground first because I'm mean.

This afternoon while the little kids napped, E1, E2 and I hid out here in the basement where it's even cooler - especially when the air is running. After nap time, we ventured upstairs to overcast skies and so the kids decided to play in the garage.

It wasn't until my brother-in-law came to pick up nephew F, and mentioned how cool it was outside that we realized the temperature had dropped outside.

My home was air conditioned at a comfortable 20 degrees above the outdoor temperature.

At what point would I be heating our home with the air conditioner?

Oh, it's CRAZY isn't it? 50-freaking degrees yesterday and more rain than I ever want to see again in my life. It's almost June, it should be regularly in the upper 70s by now, not this too-cold weather we've been having!

On the up side, I haven't had the heat OR the AC on for over a month...kind of looking forward to the next power bill!

It's been hot down in TX. We really didn't get much of a spring and I hate that.

Hmm, are you sure you don't live in Charleston? No, can't be. We don't have basements.
