Possibly Only Funny To Our Family

Or, really, only funny to Rob.

Lunchtime conversation:

E3: "Do you know anything about a dead cat?"

Nephew F: "Whipper* got runned over by a truck!"

E3: "Dead Cat Stew!"

*My parents dog.

Yeah! I'm making a dent. I don't care who you are, that's funny right there.

mental note to self -- don't eat dinner at the R's house on stew night . . .

"dead cat stew" -- my brain shifted to Shrek and I thought of "weed rat stew"; Shrek makes a good one, or so he says. I would imagine dead cat stew and weed rat stew would be equally as mouth-watering.

I laughed out loud. But maybe that's because I get (both sides of) the family's sense of humor.

That reminds me of a story Amy once told me. I was telling her about how Seth gets car sick so much and how our cars smell like vomit. And she was talking about one of your cousins who'd get car sick very easily. She mentioned the family traveled with ziplock bags so the child could throw up in the bag. And once a bag was filled your uncle would throw it out the window and say, "Some dog's getting a warm dinner tonight."

I laughed so hard over that, I was crying. I couldn't even get 1/4 of the way through that story without bursting out laughing. And even after all this time, its still making me laugh out loud while I type it. I'm sure you know what cousin that is. But holy crap. I LOVE your family's (BOTH SIDES!)sense of humor.

Why have I never heard about dogs getting warm dinners? That IS hilarious. Actually sounds like something Nancy's dad would say, but I officially declare that I will be using that as my own. Beautiful.
