Mmmmmm, Pie

I made a yummy French Crumb Apple pie to enjoy with my in-laws. This is very nice of me, considering this pie recipe is so good I'd happily eat it all myself.

While it's still warm.

A la mode.

My sister-in-law J would declare me a Hog-Jaws.

Sunday morning found us rolling out of bed to make a 6:30am meeting at the American Legion for making gravy.

Time to make the gravy.

It was Wurstmarkt Sunday for our church, a fundraiser involving sauerkraut, bratwurst, roast, mashed potatoes, and gravy. They throw in some green beans and applesauce as a nod at balancing the meal.

Rob and I, his parents, and another couple are TEAM GRAVY. Not a bad gig, considering that we don't have to interact with the customers, but an early one nevertheless. I'm in charge of stirring. I know, woooo! Stirring! Sooooo challenging! Sadly, my hand and arm usually hurt by the time we're done. I'm such a wimp.

When we finished with the making of the gravy and all messes were cleaned, we got carry-outs and snarfed them down at home, followed by my fabulous pie.

Then we schlumped on the couch and watched the Rams and the Cardinals.

The end.
